New York, NY — September 5, 2025 — Picturehouse will release “Re-Election,” a nostalgic comedy from director-writer-producer Adam Saunders (“Dotty & Soul”) beginning October 10th at New York’s Regal Union Square, followed by openings on October 17th in Dallas at the Angelika Film Center and in Atlanta at The Springs Cinema & Taphouse. Saunders also stars in the film with Tony Danza, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Kym Whitley, and Rizwan Manji.

“We are proud to be part of discovering a talented new indie actor, writer and director Adam Saunders,” says Bob Berney, CEO of Picturehouse. “‘Re-Election’ is a throwback comedy that audiences need and will enjoy this fall. Adam has brought together a great team, including Tony Danza, Kym Whitley, Rizwan Manji, and newcomer Bex Taylor-Klaus.”

Saunders is a multi-hyphenate filmmaker and co-founder of Footprint Features. His feature directorial debut, “Dotty & Soul,” premiered in 2023 on Showtime. He has also produced films for 20th Century Studios, Netflix, Sony, and Paramount.

“In this deeply polarized political landscape, I wanted to make a fun, heartfelt, throwback political comedy – the kind of movie I loved growing up in Texas – that could be enjoyed by both sides of the political aisle,” says Saunders. “It’s a story about empathy, and personal responsibility, and how the stories we tell ourselves are the ones that shape our lives. I’m deeply humbled and honored to partner with Picturehouse as they help us bring this movie to the world.”
