

NEW YORK, September 4, 2007 — In time for the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival, Lindsay Crain has been promoted to Vice President of Acquisitions at Picturehouse, it was announced today by Bob Berney, President of Picturehouse.
Crain, who will continue to report to Sara Rose, Senior Vice President of Acquisitions, will work hand-in-hand with Berney and Rose in all film acquisitions and development at Picturehouse.
“Lindsay has been an instrumental part of our team for close to two years now,” said Berney. “We are really pleased that we are able to recognize all her hard work and give her this opportunity to really shine and get front and center on several projects.”
Crain joined Picturehouse in 2006 as Director of Acquisitions. She has been instrumental in the acquisitions of Guillermo del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth, Robert Altman’s A Prairie Home Companion, and Leon Ichaso’s El Cantante, as well as the production of the upcoming psychological horror film, Amusement. Previously, Crain served as Director of Acquisitions at United Artists and was involved in the acquisitions and/or productions of Capote, Hotel Rwanda, Jeepers Creepers 2, Bowling for Columbine and Golden Globe winning Osama. Prior to United Artists, Crain served as Acquisitions Coordinator at Fine Line Features and participated in the productions of The Anniversary Party, written and directed by Alan Cumming and Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Invincible, directed by Werner Herzog. Crain began her career as an assistant to directors/producing partners Nancy Meyers and Charles Shyer at the Meyers/Shyer Company.
Launched in April 2005, Picturehouse is the joint venture of two leaders of the entertainment community - HBO and New Line Cinema. Currently in release is El Cantante, a music-infused biography of Puerto Rican salsa pioneer Hector Lavoe, starring Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony; Rocket Science, the first narrative film from Jeffrey Blitz (Spellbound) which premiered at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival where it received rave reviews and won the Directing Prize; and Seth Gordon’s crowd-pleasing documentary The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters.
